The Mercurius is an advanced space mobile suit based on the Taurus, incorporating Gundam technology. Specializing in defense, it's equipped with a set of "planet defensors," compact force-field generators which can form a defensive barrier around the Mercurius and its offensive partner Vayeate. This defense field is strong enough to deflect attacks even from the Gundams' powerful weaponry. The Mercurius is armed with a small beam gun, and its crash shield generates a large beam blade for warding off close-range attackers.

This mysterious mobile suit is created by OZ leader Treize Khushrenada, based on data from the Tallgeese and the other Gundams. In keeping with Treize's philosophy, the Gundam Epyon eschews cowardly long-range weapons in favor of chivalrous close combat. Its main weapons are a segmented, whip-like heat rod, and a powerful beam sword whose energy is supplied by a direct connection to the Epyon's generator. The Epyon can also transform into a "mobile armor" mode for high-speed flight.

Treize Kushrenada doesn't seem to be the usual villain of a story. Treize is one of the most misunderstood umong the. He's charming, well dressed, charismatic and has high ideals (not the characteristics of a normal bad guy). Treize trusts deeply in fate, and he lives by the code of chivalry and honor. As we continue to watch the series, we see the diffuculty in which side Treize is on. Treize believes in human superiority to the mobile dolls. If he was, he would have destroyed all his enemies by the first 15 episodes. When the final battle took place in space(close to the end of the series), he had the intention of dying. He knew his death would awaken the people to recognize the foolishness of wars. Treize is not your typical villian.

Lucrezia Noin was a devoted soldier to OZ. Realizing the intent of the Gundams, and the Sanc Kingdom, she leaves the forces of OZ. She feels strongly in her beliefs and she will never give up on a fight. Even though Noin has exceptional fighting and piloting skills, she doesn't take much interest in wars and battles. She often uses her high position to influence leaders and soldiers to resolve tough situations with care and the outcome of peace. A long time friend and companion of Zechs, Noin deeply respects and honors the Lightning Count. In the last episode of the Gundam Wing series, we see that Noin does not pay her respects to Zech's grave. In her heart, she knows he's still alive in outer space.

Zechs Merquise is OZ's top mobile suit pilot. Zechs often goes by the name, Lightning Baron (which suits his personality and fighting skills perfectly). Zechs is very clost to Treize, and he seems to be the only one who understands Treize (besides Lady Une). Zechs is a strong fighter that never gives up. He is confident and never underestimates his enemies. Zechs Merquise was Milliardo Peacecraft, Relena's older brother. Milliardo changed his name to Zechs Merquise when he joined the forces of OZ. He did this to protect the ideals of the Peacecraft family. We see him often change between the two names. He uses Zechs as a soldier of OZ, and Milliardo as an ambassador. With the help of the Gundam Epyon (built by Treize), Zechs/Milliardo has become the master soldier.

One day she's demurely running water for Treize's bath, the next she's bombing diplomats or threatening to attack unarmed space colonies. You'd almost think she had some kind of split personality..
