Dragon Ball Z Story
Saiyan Saga Summary
The Saiyan Saga holds the arrival of Radditz and the fight against Nappa and Vegeta.
Five years have passed since the final battle of the Dragonball Series with Goku and Piccolo in the 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai. A great peace has settled over the Earth. Goku, his wife Chi Chi, and their young child, Gohan, are happily enjoying a life of tranquility. That peace is disturbed by an alien from outerspace, Radditz. He claims that Goku is his brother and that both Goku and himself are of the Saiyan race. But Goku has forgotten his origins due to a childhood head injury.
Radditz expects Goku to fulfill his original mission, to destroy the planet Earth. Radditz is suprised to hear his brainwashed brother refuse his mission. In order to get his brother thinking right again, he kidnaps Gohan and says until he destroys all the inhabitants of earth, he will keep his son. Goku has no choice but to team up with Piccolo, his greatest enemy, to battle Radditz. Piccolo and Goku fight hard, and even Gohan shows some powers never before seen. After much fighting, Goku ends up sacrificing his own life in order to stop his evil brother. But while Radditz lies dying, he hears them talking about how Goku will come back. He asks how and secretly sets his scouter to record the conversation.
Piccolo tells the story of the Dragon Ball's powers and Radditz simply smiles and tells him that his two saiyan friends overheard the conversation, and will be coming to earth to collect the Dragon Balls, arriving there in exactly one year. Radditz tells them that his two friends are alot stronger then himself. Radditz then dies. Everyone decides to train, and Piccolo takes Gohan to train, having seen his powers in the fight with Radditz.
In the after life, Goku is told of King Kai who is a a great martial arts master. Goku wishes to be trained by him and King Yemma gives him the permittion to go. The only trick is that he has to cross snake way, which is a very long path which many people have died trying to cross. Goku doesnt care and begins the path. Meanwhile, Gohan faces some intense survival and martial arts training from Piccolo, and Goku's friends Yamucha, Chaouzu, Tenshinhan, Yajirobe, and Krillin perfect their skills with Kame-sama.
One year after Goku's death, the two Saiyans arrive, Nappa and Vegeta. Right before they arrive Kame-sennin wishes with the Dragon Balls for Goku to return, unfortunately he has to go back through snake way. It seems to be a hopeless cause, for Goku is not there. The Z warriors fight there hearts out though. All die except for Gohan and Krillin!! To make matters even worse, Nappa was the only one who fought! Because Piccolo died the Dragon Balls dissapear since he is part of Kame-sennin.
Gohan fights Nappa with all he has and when Nappa tries to put the finishing blow on Gohan, he is saved by Goku who has finally arrived back on Earth. Goku begins to fight Nappa and shows that Nappa is a weakling compared to him. He shows off one of the two techniques he learns from King Kai, Kaio-ken, which allows you to gain tremendous speed and power. Before Goku finishes Nappa, Vegeta kills him, seeing that he is too weak and is no use any more. Now it is just between Goku and Vegeta.
The battle wears both of the warriors out, Goku especially since he used Kaio-ken to much. But he still has one technique. Goku uses the Solar flare to blind Vegeta. He then goes and charges up a Genki Dama (spirit bomb). Vegeta then attacks Goku and crushes his Legs. Losing alot of The Genki Dama's Energy, but Goku gives what is left to Krillin. He tells him to use it on Vegeta. He does so and Vegeta is thought to be dead, or is he. Vegeta returns and is pretty pissed off. He fights Gohan and because of the artificial moon that Vegeta had made earlier Gohan transforms into his Oozaru form. Vegeta gets beat up pretty badly by Gohan. But, Vegeta manages to cut Gohan's tail off. Vegeta is wounded pretty badly. Goku is crippled due to him legs being crushed, so Krillin steps up and is ready to deliver the final blow to Vegeta with Yajirobe's sword. But Goku begs his friend to show mercy, and Krillin reluctantly agrees. Vegeta crawls into his saiyan space pod and blasts off, leaving the weary survivors with a hard victory.
Frieza Saga Summary
The Frieza Saga covers from the time the Z warriors go to Namek up to the end of the fight with Goku and Frieza.
This saga starts off with Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma going to namek to use the namekian dragonballs to wish their friends back to life. They use the space ship which Kame used to travel from Namek to Earth. After a long journey they arrive on Namek. Vegeta makes his way to Namek aswell. he found out about the Namek dragonballs from one of Frieza's outposts in space where he was healed. Basicly Frieza and Vegeta want imortality and they are willing to do anything to get their wish.
Eventually Vegeta kills most of Frieza's henchmen, Dadoria, Zarbon, Kui, and various ground troops. But Frieza manages to get all of the dragonballs the only problem is, he doesnt know how to use them. Vegeta steals the dragonballs from Frieza's ship, and the Ginyu force is called in to retreive them. Meanwhile Goku is healed from his battle against Vegeta and Nappa on Earth. He begins to travel to Namek with a Capsule Corp. ship to help out his friends.
Goku makes it to Namek just in time to help Gohan. Vegeta was defeated by Reccome and so was Krillin. Goku is alot stronger due to his healing, and because of his gravity training on his way to Namek. He uses his swift speed to take out Recoome and Burter. Jeice escapes to get Capt. Ginyu, and Vegeta had killed Guldo already. Goku gives out senzu beans and asks Vegeta for his help against Capt. Ginyu. Vegeta agrees but as soon as Ginyu arrives Vegeta leaves to steal the dragonballs. After a long, hard, and extremely odd fight with Ginyu, Goku is victorious but badly wounded. Vegeta kills Jeice and places Goku in an Isolation chamber which speeds up the healing process.
After learning that you need a namekian password to use the dragonballs, Gohan goes to get it from Dende. Meanwhile Dende had already left to give it to the Z fighters. Guru, who is the gaurdian of Namek has a run in with Frieza who is looking for the password. His gaurd, and strongest Namek on the planet goes to fight Frieza. Nail knows he is no match for Frieza but he tries his best and does a great job of stalling Frieza. This gives the Z fighters enough time to receive the password and use 2 wishes.

Frieza meets up with the Z fighters and this is where the big battle begins. Piccolo runs into the beaten up Nail and fuses with him which makes him extremely powerful. After some time Piccolo meets up at the battle feild where everyone had been holding up. Piccolo does a wonderful job of fighting Frieza in his second form. But, Frieza transforms into is 3rd form and Piccolo is no match. Dende is killed, Vegeta is even killed, but when all hope is lost Goku appears. Goku isnt even a match for Frieza but he finds a weakness in him. He finds that Frieza cant detect ki without a scouter and he uses this to his advantage. Baadly wounded, Goku decides to use a Genki Dama... which is his last hope. Piccolo, Krillin, and Gohan both do their best to hold off Frieza and Goku successfully completes his Genki dama. Frieza receives a direct hit and is presumed dead.
sitting peacefully on some rocks the Z fighters are glad that Frieza is gone. Unfortunately for them Frieza reapears and kills Krillin right on the spot. because of Goku's best friend being killed he goes through a transformation. He becomes the first super saiyan in over 1,000 years. Its all down hill for Frieza after this. He is defeated. During the final battle with Super Saiyan Goku and Frieza Kame uses the Earth Dragonballs to wish back all the people killed on Namek at the hands of Frieza. Guru then uses the last Namek wish to Bring everyone on Namek except for Goku and Frieza to Earth.
Garlic Jr. Saga Summary
The Garlic Jr. Saga covers the return of Garlic Jr. from the dead zone and the death of him and the spice boys.
Having freed himself from the Dead Zone, Garlic Jr. attacks Kamesama's lookout with the help of four new henchmen, trapping Kamesama and his assistant, Mr. Popo in a bottle. He uses this opportunity to release the Aquamist, a gas that basically turns anyone it reaches into a demon. Meanwhile, Gohan has snuck away from home with Haiya Dragon in order to visit his friends. Krillin has a new girlfriend named Maron, and at the moment are with Bulma, Oolong, and Master Roshi at Kame house. The Aquamist reaches the island, transforming them all into demons (With the exception of Krillin and Maron, who were underwater when the mist passed over them). Gohan and his dragon manage to escape the effects as well.
Having now reached the island, Gohan finds himself attacked by his friends. Garlic Jr.'s minions arrive, and inform Gohan of the Super Holy Water, the only thing that can counter the Aquamist. Piccolo comes to Gohan's rescue, but is bitten by one of the demons, and turns against our young hero as well.
Upon reaching Kamesama's tower, Gohan meets Garlic Jr, who tells him how the Makyosei's (a red star) close approach to Earth freed him from the Dead Zone, and makes him stronger by the minute. Garlic Jr. orders his men to focus their attacks on Gohan, because it was him that banished the evil lord to the Dead Zone in the first place (although Krillin still tries to help Gohan). Meanwhile, Vegeta is searching for Goku in deep space, hoping to keep up with his level of strength.
Piccolo begins to attack Gohan one on one, and basically beats him silly. Krillin, getting in the way of the battle, is bitten by Piccolo, and joins in against Gohan. It is at this moment that Piccolo steals the bottle containing Kamesama and Popo from Garlic Jr. and releases them. Piccolo explains that since he is already a demon, the aquamist bite had no affect on him. Garlic Jr. becomes enraged, and the Makyosei approaches its apogee to Earth.
Knowing that there is no way to release the Super Holy Water before daybreak, Popo suggests that it be poured into the holes beneath Kame's palace where the winds would carry it around the world. However, on the way to this place rests the bodies of all the previous Kame's, known as the Shinsenkai. Any living Kame that attempts to pass through this area is in great danger. As the battle with Garlic Jr. and his minions continues on the surface, Kame is attacked by the previous gods, who drain his life force. Since Piccolo and Kame-sama are still spiritually linked, Piccolo begins to suffer in his battle. Despite the incredible amount of pain, Kame and Popo press on, finally reaching the bottom of the palace. With the dead gods busy attacking Kame, Popo manages to release the Super Holy Water, returning the Earth's population to normal.
Back on the surface, Gohan, Krillin, and Piccolo continue to do battle with Garlic Jr, who becomes stronger every second. Gohan bores a hole into Garlic Jr.'s abdomen, but due to his wish of immortality, is resurrected on the spot. Finding out that the Aquamist has been countered by Kame, Garlic Jr. creates a new Dead Zone, hoping to suck the entire palace from its foundation. Gohan creates an energy shield around himself and his friends so that they will not be absorbed into the tear, but uses much of his energy maintaining it. Piccolo distracts Garlic Jr, allowing Gohan to destroy the Makyosei. With the evil star now gone, Garlic Jr. loses all of his power, and falls into the Dead Zone once again. With Garlic Jr. gone and peace once again restored, the Z warriors wonder where Goku could possibly be...
Android Saga Summary
The Earth is in peace. Goku is still gone from the battle with Frieza. The Z warriors simultaneously sense Frieza and a power even greater than Frieza. Frieza and his father, King Cold arrive along with a fresh batch of minions on the planet Earth. King Cold had found Frieza's remains and had them fused in with android parts creating Cyber Frieza.
Frieza tells his servants to eradicate all life on Earth, but as they lift up to leave, a mysterious teenager with purple hair appears and slices up all of his minions and says he will now destroy Frieza. He minces Frieza into tiny pieces with his sword and vaporizes his remains. He then takes on King Cold. King Cold reasons with himself and cannot believe that his son was defeated by a "boy". He thinks the power is in the sword and steals it away from the boy, then rushes him. The boy catches the sword and kills King Cold, despite his pleas.
The youth tells Vegeta and the others to follow him to Goku. Vegeta follows, blazing with rage that there is another Saiyan that has surpassed him. They follow the boy and sure enough, there's Goku, standing by a space pod. The boy asks for a word with Goku and Goku agrees.
The boy introduces himself as Trunks, the son of Vegeta and Bulma. He tells Goku that in three years he will die of a heart disease and two androids will destroy the world. Goku is a little upset that he won't get to fight the androids but Trunks relieves his worries by telling him he brought an antidote from the future. He gives Goku a specific time, date and place to meet, then leaves in his time capsule. Before leaving, he tells Goku not to reveal the names of his parents since this might cause them not to get together.
Goku then catches up with his friends and shows them his new technique "Instantaneous teleportation". It allows him to teleport to any person he wants to. As an example, he teleports across the world and grabs Master Roshi's sunglasses. He then tells them about the androids, but forgets the date to meet. However, Piccolo's superior Namek auditory system allowed him to listen in and he reveals the date but not much else. Tien and Chaotzu go off to train together, as do Piccolo, Goku, and Gohan. Krillin and Yamcha go their respective directions.
The three years pass mostly without event. Goku and Piccolo are forced to get drivers licenses by Chi-Chi though.
The Z warriors meet up on the mountains where the androids are supposed to be and find Bulma holding a baby. Goku accidentally calls him Trunks before he is named, but as he is already born, no damage is done.
Since they cannot sense an android's energy, the Z warriors cant detect where the androids are so they go off looking for them. Yamcha finds an old man with a long beard and a weird white creature that resembles a panda without any black. As it turns out, these are the androids. The androids drain Yamcha's energy through red orbs in their hands and stab a hole through his stomach. He is found by the Z fighters and taken to their original mountaintop meeting place, where he is given Senzu. The androids arrive and Goku takes on #19, the overweight white android.
Goku is pounding on the android, who is smiling evilly. Although, he is pounding #19, but the z fighters notice that there is something wrong with him. He uses a Kamehameha, which the android just absorbs through its hand. Piccolo realizes it must be the predicted heart disease and asks Goku why he never took the medicine. Goku replies that the symptoms never came. Just as Goku is being drained by #19, in steps Vegeta, claiming he is strong enough to defeat the androids.
Vegeta takes on #19 and is destroying him bit by bit. #20 watches astounded as he never calculated that Vegeta would be so strong. Vegeta goes Super Saiyan and reveals that his anger at not being able to go Super Saiyan is what caused him to go Super Saiyan. #19 then attaches its arms on Vegeta and says it will never let go. Vegeta smiles and says "Never?" and pulls out its arms. Vegeta then destroys the android.
#20 is appalled that there can be a Saiyan this strong and flies into a nearby mountain, using its cracks to hide himself. Vegeta takes a Senzu, and the Z fighters all fly into the mountain.
In the mountain, #20 is brooding on strategy and decides to pick off the Z warriors one by one. He attacks Piccolo and drains some of his energy. However, Piccolo is saved by Gohan. Piccolo eats a Senzu and challenges #20. #20 agrees, thinking he has Piccolo's energy. Piccolo smashes him around like a tennis ball and #20, who reveals himself to be none other than Dr. Gero himself, flees into the mountain and heads for his hidden lab to activate androids #17 and #18.
Trunks returns from the future and tells the Z warriors that #17 and #18 must not be activated at all costs. Their power is far beyond that of anyone on Earth. Vegeta laughs and calls his son a coward. Ignoring Vegeta, Trunks tells the Z fighters to split up and try to locate Gero. They agree and split up.
As it turns out, Krillin finds Gero's lab and signals the others. The warriors ariive on the scene and stand outside Gero's lab.
Inside, Gero activates #17, who seems to be in perfect order. Gero then activates the female android #18, who is also in working order. Just as Gero thinks that world domination is a stone's throw away, the androids turn on him and steal the controller. #17 attacks Gero and kicks his head off destroying him. #17 notices another androids case, and is curious about the android, whom Gero had never activated. They are interrupted when Vegeta blasts open the lab door.
The androids glance at the gawking Z fighters, then return to their business. #17 tells #18 to hurry up and activate #16. Just as she is about to activate the android, Trunks goes Super Saiyan and blasts the lab to pieces. However, it has no effect and #16 is activated. #18 asks why it was created and it replies "To kill Goku!" #18 says Dr. Gero's goals for them make her sick, and the three androids fly off towards Goku's house. Vegeta is furious that the androids just ignored him and flies off after them. Trunks follows, not wanting his father to do anything rash. The rest of the Z fighters follow in hopes of intercepting the androids.
Vegeta and the androids land in the middle of a road and Vegeta challenges one of them to fight. #18 orders #16 to fight, but #16 refuses, saying he must kill Goku. #18 takes on Vegeta instead.
Vegeta and #18 begin to duel. As the battle progresses, it seems clear that the Saiyan prince has no chance of defeating the deadly beauty. #17 is surprised at how strong Vegeta is and complements his skills. Vegeta insults him in return.
The others arrive just in time to keep him from being destroyed. All of them except Krillin take on the androids who are easily defeated. #18 tells Krillin to give his friends Senzu beans and flies away after giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.
Goku is moved out of his house as soon as word of the androids reaches Chi-Chi, and the Saiyan is loaded onto a plane.
When Piccolo is revived with the rest of the Z gang, he becomes extremely annoyed and flies off to recombine with Kami. Krillin states that the thought of combining with Kami again is outrageous, since the two have an immense mutual hatred for each other.
While flying, the plane gets a call from Bulma saying that a time machine identical to the one that Trunks uses has been found. When the Z fighters investigate, they find that it is Trunks' time capsule, but it had come from four years into Trunks' future. Near the capsule they find a few broken bits of egg but not much else. They cannot see anything wrong, although Trunks feels very worried...
Kami wrestles with Piccolo's proposal. At last, he agrees, as he can sense that whatever hatched from the egg was now absorbing people like nobody's business. He tells the shocked Mr. Popo that Earth needs a super-warrior rather than a Kami in a situation like this. So saying, the Namek gives up his life to Piccolo and the Dragon Balls turn to stone.
Piccolo flies off to Gingertown where he arrives to find an insect-like monster draining the life from the city's last inhabitant. Piccolo tells it to stop, but it refuses and attacks Piccolo. However, Piccolo is much stronger from the fusion and emerges unhurt. The monster readies an attack, and Piccolo is shocked to find that it's a Kamehameha, an attack mastered by only Master Roshi's students. He evades the blast, only to have the energy in his left arm depleted by the monster's scorpion like tail.
Piccolo concedes and pretends to ask the monster for a last favor. He asks him who he is and what he is doing with Goku's attacks. The monster says that his name is Cell and that he is the ultimate creation of Dr. Gero. Dr. Gero gathered cells from all the greatest fighters on earth including Goku, Frieza, King Cold, Tien, Krillin, Piccolo and Tien. They where fused into one super powerful being. However, Dr. Gero realized that the project wouldn't be complete in his lifetime and moved onto other work. However, the computer kept working at it and finished the project three years after Trunks' first time travle. He was told by the computer that he would need to absorb androids #17 and #18 in order to reach perfection. Since they had already been killed in his time, Cell killed Trunks and stole his time machine. When Piccolo asks him why he chose this time, he said that it had already been pre-programmed by Trunks. Piccolo thanks him and rips off his arm, then regenerates it. Cell is forced to fight him again.
Meanwhile, the Z fighters fly towards Piccolo and Cell in a state of confusion, as they can sense Frieza, Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Goku in one location. Krillin and Trunks arrive on the scene, and Piccolo reveals his merger. Cell blinds everyone with a Solar Flare and flees to another city, where he start absorbing the populace in hopes of becoming stronger than Piccolo and the Z fighters.
Piccolo is cursing himself for letting Cell escape. Krillin and Trunks decide to destroy the infant Cell in Gero's laboratory so that another Cell would not be born. When they reach the lab, they find blueprints for #17. Taking the prints, the two destroy the lab and deliver the plans to Bulma and Dr. Briefs.
While reading over the plans, Bulma finds most of its contents confusing, but she and her father pledge to do their very best at deciphering the encryption.
Cell is still at work, draining energy from anything that moves. He chases a little girl and her brother, but is stopped by Krillin. The monster fights Krillin for awhile, but Piccolo and Tien arrive and drive him away.
At long last, Goku has recovered from the effects of his heart virus and is training on a beach. After Vegeta's failure to defeat the androids, he knows that he is no match for them at his current level. He teleports himself and Gohan to Vegeta and Trunks and tells them of a special chamber where a years worth of training can take place in one day. He transports the four to Kami's lookout, and Vegeta and Trunks are the first to enter the Room of Spirit and Time.
The androids reach Goku's vacant house, and upon finding it empty, fly to the Kame House. Piccolo refuses to reveal Goku's location and takes on #17 while #16 and #18 watch. After his fusion with Kami, the Namek has the upper hand, though not by much. Cell senses the battle and determines that Piccolo is battling #17 and flies in, seeking perfection. He attempts to absorb #17, but fails when Piccolo interferes. To prevent further intervention on Piccolo's part, Cell breaks the Namek's neck and throws him into the sea. Meanwhile, Bulma completes a device that will deactivate the androids and journeys to meet Krillin with it.
Cell and #17 begin to duel. Cell has a clear edge over #17, even without his energy. #16 then intervenes, saying that he is a match for Cell. This proves to be true as the big android launches a volley of attacks at the monster. Cell attempts to absorb the android, but is fooled when #16 reveals that he is totally robotic. The android attacks the creature again. Cell appears to be dead, and #17 and #18 refuse to leave. Realizing that Cell is alive, #17 challenges him again. Cell then sneaks up behind the android and absorbs him, triggering his first transformation. #16 snatches #18 and flees the scene, but not fast enough, as Cell appears in front of the fleeing androids. As #16 attempts to interfere, Cell blasts of part of his head. #18 threatens to destroy herself when Tien appears. Using his Kikoho attack, he seals Cell into the ground before collapsing from the enormous taxation on his body. However, he stalled Cell long enough for #16 and #18 to escape.
As Cell prepares to destroy Tien for allowing #18 escape, Goku teleports to the scene and says that he will destroy Cell someday. Teleporting to Piccolo, who is just barely alive, he transports both warriors to Kami's palace.
Krillin and Bulma finally meet up with each other. She gives him the device to deactivate the androids and tells him that it must be used no more than 10 feet away. Meanwhile, Cell is threatening #18, who is hiding with #16 on an island.
The door of the Room of spirit and time suddenly opens. Vegeta and Trunks emerge. They inform the others that they have passed beyond Super Saiyan. Bulma arrives bearing special saiyan armor made by Capsule Corp. Trunks and Vegeta then head off to fight Cell. Goku and Gohan then begin their time-training.
Cell is growing increasingly frustrated with the situation and threatens to destroy the islands one by one until #18 comes out. He begins to do so and their is only one island left by the time Vegeta arrives on the scene.
Vegeta shows off his new Saiyan style by slapping Cell around like a punching bag. Cell is powerless against the reborn Vegeta and is shocked that he could have grown so strong in such a short time. Vegeta plays with his opponent, but postpones his death. Cell, who has the blood of Vegeta in his veins, begins to play upon Vegeta's pride. He yammers on about not being perfect and manages to convince Vegeta that he will be a challenge if he reaches perfection. It works, and Vegeta steps aside.
Down on the surface, Krillin is beginning to have second thoughts about destroying the beautiful android. He finally makes his decision. He walks into the androids' line of sight and smashes the controller, greatly surprising #16 and #18. He warns them, that Cell is just above, and the two gaze up in shock.
Trunks arrives and blocks Cell's path, refusing to let Vegeta's thick-headedness destroy the Earth. Vegeta tells his son to get lost, and the two begin to argue. While they are arguing, Cell spots #18.
Meanwhile, Goku and Gohan are busily training in the room of spirit and time. Goku shows Gohan a few tricks and most importantly how to master Super Saiyan. Gohan finally goes Super Saiyan when Goku uses his full power against him, but his true power is not yet released.
Cell swoops down, only to be blocked by Trunks. Vegeta bats his son out of the way. Cell swoops down towards #18, but is blocked by Krillin and #16. He disposes of them easily enough, but is blocked by Trunks yet again. Vegeta hurls insults at Trunks who blasts him far away from the scene to prevent further intervention. Trunks then blasts Cell into some nearby mountains. Cell hides his energy and burrows underground hoping to catch #18 there, but is stopped for the third time by Trunks. Tired of their meddlesome behavior, Cell flies into the sun and uses a Solar Flare, blinding the androids, Trunks, and Krillin. He flies down and absorbs #18, beginning his final transformation.
Finally at his Perfect Form, Cell is far more stronger then Trunks and Vegeta could have imagined. Vegeta still thinks hes stronger then Cell, but is pretty easily defeated. We do see Vegeta use his Final Flash technique which takes off half of Cell's body, but Cell quickly regenerated his lost body parts.
After Vegeta is defeated Trunks steps up. He is pretty confident and begins a massive power up. Krillin is zapped by a lightning bolt from Trunks, and is scared because of Trunks dramaticly rising power level. Cell is impressed but demonstraights how useless Ultra Super Saiyan is. He tells Trunks that his bulky muscles slow him down and that having a high powerlevel is nothing if you can't catch your oponent. After a small beating Trunks is also defeated. Cell doesn't kill Trunks though, he decides to hold a Tournament. He tells Trunks to notify all the Z warriors and let them know about the Tournament.
Trunks leaves and tells everyone about the Tournament. Cell creates a ring out of rock from a nearby mountain and everyone else trains. Goku and Gohan go in the room of spirit and time for a second time which increases their strength tremendously. Trunks and Vegeta do the same. Days later the Tournament begins, and everyone is set for the fight.
Goku, Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta, Piccolo, Trunks, Tenshinhan, Yamucha, Mr.Satan and a television broadcast team all come for the fight. The defending World Martial Arts Champion steps up against Cell first and is defeated with a single slap. Goku of course steps up for the first "real" matchup. Everyone is depending on Goku to pull through since hes the strongest. Goku does fairly well, as a matter of fact he actually equals Cell. He dodges all of Cell's special techniques which where inherited by the people he was made from. In the end Goku is badly wounded and Cell is left with just his legs. Cell regenerates though and Goku gives up.
Goku tells Cell that he knows a person who can defeat him, and calls out Gohan. Piccolo thinks Goku is crazy, but Goku tells him to relax. Gohan doesnt do that well and gets beat up pretty badly. During his fight #16 jumps in and tries to self destruct and kill Cell. But when Bulma repaired him she took out the bomb inside of him. #16 is destroyed. Gohan tells Cell that he can get much stronger but his powers must be awakened, and by getting angry they get released. Cell is anxious to see Gohan's true power and creates 6 Cell Jr's. These Cell Jr's look exactly like Cell but are blue and about 2 feet tall. Cell orders them all to kill the Z fighters and they attack.
When all hope is gone, Mr. Satan comes to the rescue. #16's head is still working and tells Mr. Satan to throw him to Gohan. Mr. Satan does and #16 gives an inspiring speach to Gohan. He basicly tells him to just let his anger out and to not blame himself for what is happening. In the middle of a sentence, Cell steps on his head ending his life. Emotional, hurt, and extremely Angry Gohan bursts out in rage. He screams and powers up. His energy sky rockets and he becomes the first Super Saiyan level 2 and the first to surpass Super Saiyan form.
Gohan is much more stronger then Cell now and quickly helps his friends by killing every Cell Jr. When his friends are fine and have a senzu each Gohan then focuses his attention on Cell. He whips Cell around and beats him up so badly that he actually spits Android #18 back up forcing him to go back to his Imperfect Form. Gohan has the chance to kill him, but doesnt take him. He is so enraged and angry that he decides to "play" with Cell and make him pay for what he has done to the Earth. Not paying attention Cell begins his self destruction process. Since he can't stop Gohan he decides that he will kill himself and everyone else on Earth. Gohan again begins to cry because it is his own fault.
Goku slowly walks up to Gohan and tells him that he did great, and then teleports Cell to King Kai's planet where he explodes. The explosion destroys King Kai's planet, Kills King Kai, Gregory, Bubbles, and Goku.
Everyone comforts Gohan and when they all think its over, Cell reapears. a single Cell was left from the blast and he was about to regenerate his body from the cell. Because he is almost half saiyan his power increased dramaticly because of the blast making him as strong at Gohan. Gohan and Cell battle it out and it all comes up to a KameHameHa dual. Cell and Gohan both fire KameHameHa's at each other and the energy waves back and forth between them. Gohan is only using one arm since his other was broken trying to save Vegeta from one of Cell's attacks. Vegeta flies over Cell and does a final flash which gives Gohan the split second to defeat Cell with his KameHameHa. Cell dies and the world is finally at peace again.
Buu Saga Summary
Seven years after the Android saga. Gohan has grown and is now a teenager in High School. He is attending Orange Star High School and has a secret identity as the Great Saiyaman. Gohan also has a girlfriend, the daughter of Mr. Satan, Videl. Chi-Chi has another son, Goten. Goten is best friends with Trunks who is now eight. Krillin and Android 18 have gotten married and they have a daughter named Marron. Gohan trains his little brother while Vegeta trains Trunks. Both are surprised when both children are able to obtain the level of SSJ. Goku, in the afterlife, competes in a martial arts tournament with his new friend and sparing partner, Paikuhan.
Everything is at peace as another Tenkaichi Boudoukai is being held. The Z warriors all enter except for a select few (Yamucha). Goku, being dead, is given the opportunity to compete in the tournament and is given one day on Earth. Videl also enters. Piccolo starts off against a mysterious warrior known as Kaioshin. Kaioshin uses his magic to stop Piccolo from moving. Piccolo senses Kaioshin's great power and forfeits the match. A few more matches go on, and eventually Videl has to fight Supobitchi who has a weird “M” on his forehead. Videl beats the crap out of Supobitchi, but no matter what he always gets back up. Videl begins to get tired, and thats when the match turns around. Supobitchi begins to attack Videl and she is so tired that she can't defend herself. Unconscious Goku brings her a senzu bean and she is healed.
Gohan then goes up against Kibito. The fight begins and Gohan turns SSJ. Supobitchi and Yamu, another competitor with the strange “M” on his forehead, pull out a strange lamp that absorbs Gohan's energy and he drops to the ground. The two mysterious fighters fly away and the Z fighters are mystified as to what just happened.
It is at this point that they are approached by Kaioshin. Kaioshin, introduces himself and his assistant and restore Gohan’s energy. We then find out that Kaioshin is the supreme God of the Eastern Universe and he need the Z fighter's help to defeat an evil being named Babidi. This evil magician is being helped by the Prince of Darkness, Dabura. Babidi enjoys destroying all living things and has the ability to turn people who have evil in their hearts into slaves. Kaioshin reveals that Babidi’s plan is to revive an ancient being named Buu. In order to do this, he must collect a large amount of power. This is what Supobitchi did to Gohan. Kibito allowed them to drain gohan so that they could be followed to Babidi’s ship.
Meanwhile, Supobitchi arrives back with the stolen energy and is killed by Babidi. The energy is given to Buu, and Babidi is surprised that Supobitchi was able to collect such a large amount of energy. The Z fighters, during this time, have followed Babidi’s two slaves back to the evil magician’s hideout. Unfortunately, they are sensed by Dabura and are confronted by the dark warrior. Kaoishin attempts to warn the fighters about Dabura’s special attack, but it is too late. Piccolo and Krillin are hit by his spit and are turned to stone. The only way to free their friends is to kill Dabura. Gohan, Goku, Vegeta and Kaioshin all enter Babidi’s lair to confront the evil prince.
The fighters enter the ship on the first floor and are confronted by their first opponent. The only way to get to Babidi is to defeat a strong opponent at each level. Vegeta easily defeats the first fighter and they move to the next floor. Goku is next to fight and he also defeats his opponent. Finally, Gohan is next. Suddenly, Dabura appears and takes on Gohan. Gohan is loosing when Dabura suddenly breaks off the fight. The Prince of Darkness returns to Babidi and tells him of another plan to get the energy needed to revive Buu. He had observed Vegeta and realized that he had evil in his heart and could be made a slave by Babidi. Babidi casts his spell and Vegeta is captured in its intensity. Realizing what was happening, Kaioshin reveals that Vegeta is being made a slave in order to defeat them. Goku and Gohan tell Vegeta to fight the spell but Vegeta allows himself to become enslaved and an “M” appears on his forehead just like the one that Supobitchi had.
Meanwhile, Trunks and Goten, steal a fighter's costume so that they can partisipate in the Adult competition. They end up competing against Android 18, Mr. Satan, and another fighter. Eventually it's only #18 fighting Trunks and Goten with a Mr.Satan staring up at them in amazement. #18 suspects that there are two of them when they keep changing positions, fighting with a different technique each time. When they transform into SSJ, Android 18 realizes it is Goten and Trunks and splits their costume in half, revealing the two boys. They look at each other with jaws down and fly off so that they will not be caught. They meet up with Videl, who tells them that Vegeta, Goku and Gohan have gone off to fight Babidi and Majin Buu. The two, excited to see a majin, rush off to join in the fight. At the same time, Android 18 is left to fight Mr. Satan. She makes a deal with him to allow him to win if he pays her the prize money from the competition. He agrees and she basically throws herself from the ring.
Back at the ship, Goku, Gohan and Kaioshin stand shocked at Vegeta’s transformation. Babidi transports them to the middle of the Tenkaichi Boudoukai ring, where Mr. Satan is celebrating his victory. Vegeta challenges Goku to a fight and when he refuses, Vegeta blasts the stands, killing many spectators. Goku is forced to agree and asks for them to be transported to a remote area. His request is granted and the two begin what has got to be one of the best fights in DBZ. As they fight and injure each other, their power is donated to the resurrection of Buu. Gohan and Kaioshin arrive just as Buu’s power level reaches maximum. Babidi transports them outside the ship and Buu is resurrected.
The newly released Buu kills Dabura for doubting his powers and fights Gohan and Kaioshin. As this happens, Vegeta is convinced by Goku to stop the fight so they can deal with the problem of Buu first. Just as Goku reaches for a senzu bean and turns his back on Vegeta, the Saiyan prince hits him on the back of the head and knocks him unconscious. Vegeta then realizes that he can no longer be evil because Goku’s good always wins out in the end. He then flies to confront Buu. Buu is more powerful and is able to get hold of Vegeta, beating him into unconsciousness. Fortunately, Trunks intervenes and knocks Buu off of his father. Trunks is soon joined by Goten and the two revive Vegeta. Vegeta then asks Trunks to take care of his mother. He then hugs Trunks for the first time and then knocks both of the boys unconscious.
Piccolo who has been revived with Dabura’s death by Buu’s hands, takes care of Babidi. He attacks and chops him in half. Piccolo then flys to Vegeta and is asked by Vegeta to take the boys to safety. Piccolo realizes what Vegeta intends to do and quickly leaves the area with Krillin and the kids. Vegeta, truely good now, decides to sacrifice himself for the good of others. He wishes, Bulma, Trunks and Goku farewell and self-destructs. Buu is blasted into a million pieces in the Explosion.
Unfortunately, Buu had not been defeated in the blast. All of the pieces that were scattered with the blast emerge as miniature copies and they gather and form the evil Buu again. Goku recovers finally and turns SSJ3 (which he aquired on heaven, but didn't use because it drains his energy to fast). Bulma, meanwhile, has collected the Dragon Balls and wishes that all the people killed by Babidi’s slaves be revived. Buu at this point, splits into two beings, one of good and one of evil. The good Buu is no match for his evil counterpart and is transformed into a cookie and eaten. Buu then is able to transform into a taller, more adapted to fighting form.
During this time, Gohan is transported to Kaioshin’s planet. He travels with Kaioshin and his assistant to retrieve the Zed sword. His clothes are transformed and look similar to that of Kaioshin. He is able to pull out the sword and begins to train under Dai Kaioshin (who came out of the Zed sword). It is here we learn about Buu’s first appearance. Dai Kaioshin tells Gohan of an evil sorcerer named Bibidi, Babidi’s father, and how he controlled Buu and used him to destroy the Kaioshins. Buu was eventually cursed into a less powerful form, then trapped and Bibidi was defeated.
Buu becomes irritated and demands to be taken to the powerful fighters. Meanwhile, Goku has been teaching Goten and Trunks the Fusion technique, he seems to believe this is the only way Buu will be defeated. Because he used Super Saiyan level 3 his time is taken up and he soon has to leave Earth, where he goes to kaioshin's planet to watch Gohan train. Buu threatens to kill everyone on Earth, so Piccolo takes Buu into the room of time and spirit and Gotenks fights him. They are evenly matched and it looks like there is no chance to defeat the evil villain. Piccolo blasts the door of the room of time and spirit to ensure that Buu can not escape. Buu, seeing his exit destroyed, creates a portal from his loud screaming that allows him to escape. Gotenks attempts to create the same portal but can’t. He powers up tremendously and he turns Super Saiyan Level 3, (he was saving this to show off in front of Piccolo) He is now powerful enough to create the same portal as Buu and escapes.
They battle again and Dende's Palace is destroyed during the fight. Gotenks manages to blast Buu back down to Earth and he and Piccolo fly down to search for his body. Unfortunately, Buu is still alive and then Gotenks’ fusion wears off. The two young fighters are no match for Buu in their unfused state. Fortunately, Gohan has finished his training and is teleported back to Earth. He challenges Buu and beats the crap out of him. Buu, seeing he is defeated, blows himself up. The Z fighters believe that Buu has been destroyed and fly off, but are surprised when they are again confronted by Buu. Buu makes fun of Goten and Trunks saying they are to weak which makes them want to fight. They fuse again but it was a trap to get Gotenks' energy, Buu obsorbs them. (he says he didnt obsorb them before because he wanted there strength for as long as he could get it, the fusion wears off after 30 minutes). Because they were at SSJ3 form, Buu is now more powerful than Gohan. Gohan is being beaten and Buu sends a tremendous blast at him. Gohan attempts to block the blast but suddenly, another blast knocks Buu’s blast aside. Tien has appeared and has managed to repel Buu’s blast. Unfortunately, Buu quickly forms another blast.
Vegeta’s soul is before King Yamma, and he is given life again so that he may help in the fight against Buu. Kaioshin meanwhile tell Goku about the Pottera earrings that will allow the wearers to fuse. Kaioshin and his assistant demonstrate how to wear the earrings allowing the two fighters to fuse permanently. Goku is given the earrings so that he and his son can fuse to beat Buu. Kaioshin then gives up his life so that Goku can return to Earth to fight. Goku teleports to Earth and arrives just in time to save Gohan from another one of Buu’s ki blasts. Goku throws a kienzan (ki disc) at Buu and he is chopped in half. Goku then tosses one of the earrings to Gohan and he begins to put it on. One part of Buu manages to consume Piccolo and the other consumes Gohan. Buu returns to his powerful form. Suddenly Vegeta arrives on Earth and Goku gives him the earring Gohan dropped. After much convincing, Vegeta agrees to wear the earring and the two are pulled together and transform into the powerful fighter, Vegetto.
Vegetto fights against Buu but allows himself to be absorbed. He does this in order to rescue Gohan and the others that have been consumed by the evil villain. When they are absorbed, the permanent fusion of the earrings is counteracted and Vegetto splits back into Goku and Vegeta. The two find their fallen comrades and rescue them, escaping out of one of Buu’s pores. They return to their normal size as they exit his body. Unfortunately, with the absorption of Vegetto, Buu has enough power and now able to return to his original form. He forms a huge blast and blows up the Earth.
Luckily, Goku with the help of Kaioshin, teleports Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, Gohan, Piccolo, Dende and Mr. Satan to Kaio-shin’s planet. They are followed by Buu who attacks Goku. Goku, it seems, is no match for the fighter and Vegeta intervenes to allow Goku to collect enough power for a Spirit Bomb. Vegeta is getting beaten when Mr. Satan shows up. Mr. Satan, believing that he is dreaming, approaches Buu. Buu attacks Satan, but he is able to dodge the attacks (basically it is pure luck that he does this because he is begging for mercy at the time). As he attacks, Buu suddenly stops and seems to be consumed with pain. All of a sudden, Buu spits out Fat Buu, who was friends with Mr. Satan. The two Buu’s fight, Good Buu unfortunately, is weaker and begins to loose. Vegeta and Goku must then take on Buu again.
Vegeta tells Kaioshin to collect the Namekian dragonballs and three wishes are made. The first restores the Earth. The second revives all those killed by Buu and the third wish is saved for a later time. Vegeta distracts Buu long enough for Goku to form a huge Spirit Bomb (Genki Dama). The Z fighters ask that all the people on Earth raise their hands so they can donate their energy to make the Spirit Bomb bigger. Unfortunately, no one listens until they see their hero, Mr. Satan do it. Goku is then able to gather enough energy to form a large enough blast to kill Buu. Goku throws it at Buu but he is repelling it. The last wish from the Dragon Balls is used to restore Goku’s strength and the Saiyan is able to increase the strength of his blast. Buu is overwhelmed and can no longer hold off the blast. He is killed as the powerful attack consumes him.
After the battle, Fat Buu recovers and Satan pleas with the Z fighters not to destroy him. They agree and Fat Buu joins them.
